Sweet Abby

Just wanted to give you an Abby update. She has settled in so well. We just love her with all our hearts, it's as if she's always been a part of our family. She is a complete lapdog and snuggler and has a cute morning routine, she runs upstairs every morning to wake up our daughter with puppy smooches and snuggles. Our little 11 yr old Schnorkie quickly became attached to Abby and they are never apart, always getting into mischief together! She starts Pet Manners class next week, and we think she may have a talent for agility! Thank you, thank you for allowing Abby to join our family

Nelly June

I can't believe it's been over a year since we adopted Nelly! We just love her more and more everyday. I thought I would share a picture with you guys (it seems to sum Nelly up). She's so silly and curious...mainly about what goodies we could have possibly left up on the counter when she's at home by herself or when she thinks we can't hear her exploring the kitchen. The fruit bowl has been her latest favorite thing to explore, since apples are like balls and bananas are apparently yummy snacks to her. I've just learned to put it (and anything else that Nelly should keep away from) far away from the edge of the counter :).

We go on long walks everyday, and she loves to play chase with her "babies" - a tailless stuffed beaver and her play bunny. Nelly has earned enough trust (outside the fruit bowl incidents) to both sleep outside her crate and to stay in the house outside her crate. Instead of waking us up every morning at 5:00 AM, she now waits patiently for us to get up. She could not be happier as long as she has an extra soft doggie bed to lounge on while she naps and a good long walk to stretch her legs and explore the neighborhood in the evenings. If a little kid runs out to play with her on a walk, she considers that an extra good day. She is very patient and sweet with kids who run up to "love" on her. She also enjoys stalking and chasing the squirrels that torment her in our backyard.

Since we've passed her one year adoption anniversary, I wanted to give you an update on how our sweet girl is doing. We just love her to pieces. Thanks for all you do for so many dogs!

- Whitney
